Anne of Green Gables is licensed from Concord Theatricals
Based on L.M. Montgomery's timeless classic, Anne of Green Gables follows the story of Anne Shirley, a feisty, red-haired orphan who arrives unexpectedly in the small farming community of Avonlea and soon captures the hearts and minds of her newfound family and neighbors.
All ages are welcome to audition.
Auditions will be held between January 8-17.

REHEARSAL SCHEDULE
Rehearsals will take place July 12 - September 2 on Tuesdays and Thursdays (6-10pm), and Sundays (3-10pm) There are additional evening rehearsals during tech week.
Most rehearsals take place at Lancaster Alliance Church.
PERFORMANCE SCHEDULE
Performances will take place from September 3-27 on Thursdays (7pm), Fridays (7pm), Saturdays (11am & 3pm), and Sundays (3pm).
CASTING
This production will feature a large ensemble of all ages. Because of the busy performance schedule we are anticipating double casting or using understudies/swings to cover many of the roles. Small stipends will be available for some featured roles. Ensemble roles will be volunteer.
CHARACTER BREAKDOWN
NOTE: Character age range is approximate and meant to convey the stage playing age or how the character should look, not the actual age of the performer. Performers of ALL ethnicities will be considered for ALL roles; casting is not color specific.
ANNE SHIRLEY (13-16): An orphan girl with a vivid imagination. She is scholastic and well intentioned, but has a fiery temper. She is passionate, loyal, stubborn, and intelligent. She is described as having red-hair and freckles
MARILLA CUTHBERT (40-65): Stern, moral, and no-nonsense spinster. She lives with Matthew, her unmarried brother. She has a wry sense of humor and is eventually affectionate toward Anne.
MATTHEW CUTHBERT (40-65): Bachelor; A sweet, soft-spoken farmer who works the Green Gables acreage. He lives with his sister Marilla. He is painfully shy toward women, but instantly likes Anne who considers Matthew a kindred spirit.
GILBERT BLYTHE (13-16): Smart, handsome, and confident young man. Good-natured but cocky, he inadvertently becomes Anne's rival when he makes the mistake of teasing her about her red hair.
RACHEL LYNDE (40-70): Outspoken and indiscreet; the town gossip. Affectionate towards her good friend Marilla.
DIANA BARRY (13-16): Loyal, agreeable and sweet. She is Anne's best friend, schoolmate and kindred spirit. Diana is described as an attractive girl with long black hair.
JOSIE PYE (13-16): Selfish, harsh and scheming; Anne's worst enemy. Josie is described as blonde and pretty.
MISS MURIEL STACY (20-25): Schoolteacher; radiates enthusiasm and rampant desire for learning. She is a role model and mentor for Anne.
