Servant Stage Youth Companies

Servant Stage Youth Company (YouthCo) is a comprehensive training program for performers ages 10–19 who wish to hone their theatre skills.
YouthCo includes four audition-based levels:

Teen Company (TeenCo)

Apprentice Company (AppCo)

Junior Company (JrCo)

Kid Company (KidCo)

Students audition for Youth Company as a whole and are thoughtfully placed in the company that best supports their current skill level and development. Each level is designed to meet students where they are and help them grow in confidence, skill, and professionalism.

Students receive weekly training in acting, dancing, and singing from experienced Lancaster-based instructors and visiting industry professionals, along with specialty lessons in audition preparation, headshots and resumes, networking, and other theatre disciplines.

Our goal is to provide well-rounded musical theatre training that develops strong performers and disciplined young artists at every level.

We believe every young artist deserves a place to grow. Click on each of the companies to see how each level nurtures confidence, skill, and community.

  • Teen Company is a select group of advanced performers preparing to pursue musical theatre beyond high school. These students are committed to sharpening their skills as “triple threats” — meaning they are developing strong, well-rounded abilities in acting, singing, and dancing.

    Students:

    • Go in-depth with course content beyond foundational technique

    • Bring maturity to their preparation, presentation, and interactions

    • Take ownership of classwork, homework, and personal artistic goals

    • Stretch their own learning while positively contributing to the group dynamic

This company emphasizes professionalism, accountability, and advanced artistic growth.

  • Apprentice Company is composed of intermediate performers who have had experience and success onstage and are ready to maximize their potential and expand their skillset.

    Students are:

    • Building confidence and knowledge in all aspects of musical theatre (acting, singing, dancing, rehearsal process, and performance expectations)

    • Learning how to take ownership of class, rehearsal, and performance material

    • Developing greater consistency and professionalism

These performers are conquering the “in-between” stage — standing on top of a strong foundation while stretching into a higher level of performance and artistic maturity.

  • Junior Company is a playground for student performers to develop confidence in their abilities as actors, singers, and dancers.

    Students:

    • Grow in self-awareness on and offstage

    • Gain a broad understanding of musical theatre history and style

    • Practice strengthening their stage presence (how they carry themselves and connect with an audience)

    • Develop presentation techniques and performance skills

    • Learn to implement critiques under the coaching of their Junior Company Lead

    • Build practical tools that equip them for future auditions and performance opportunities

  • Kid Company students are young beginner performers who are generally new to the stage. They begin learning the first stages of acting (storytelling and character play), dance (basic movement and rhythm), and singing (pitch, projection, and ensemble singing) in a group setting.

    Students benefit from:

    • Developing listening skills

    • Learning to engage and participate actively

    • Practicing how to follow direction in a rehearsal environment

This Company uses play and imagination as the primary platform for learning and comprehending material, creating a joyful and supportive first theatre experience.
