Simply put, Pay-What-You-Will means you get to decide how much you want to pay! At Servant Stage, we never want the cost of a ticket to prevent anyone from experiencing exceptional theatrical performances! PWYW is an integral part of our mission to make the arts accessible to everyone.
With ticket costs soaring at local theatres (it can cost several hundred dollars just to take a small family to a show!), theatre has become inaccessible for many people in our community. The arts seem to be a privilege reserved for theatregoers of a certain narrow economic, social, age, and education demographic.
At Servant Stage, we believe that the arts should be for everyone! The arts have the power to inspire, educate, challenge and enrich our lives! Now, more than ever, we all really need to be inspired, educated, challenged, and enriched. And now, more than ever, we will not allow economic circumstances shut anyone out of the theater.
As far as we know, Servant Stage is the only theater in the region to work with an exclusively PWYW model, and one of very few organizations in the country successfully operating on such a model. We’re grateful for our faithful supporters, amazing audiences, and the wonderful Lancaster community that makes this model possible for Servant Stage, and allows exceptional theater to be accessible for everyone!
