Step into the spotlight and explore the wild world of history’s most revered playwrights, William Shakespeare! In this introductory class, students will uncover the secrets of the Bard's unique performance style, dive into the rowdy, exciting realm of Elizabethan theatre, and discover how Shakespeare's genius still shapes modern theatre, performance, and language. Through a combination of lecture, discussion, and activities, students will learn to appreciate Shakespeare’s timeless genius and experience what it would’ve been like to be a star of the Elizabethan stage!

meet BARTHOLMEW

Bartholomew Mays is a 2023 graduate of Cedarville University and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English with concentrations in literature and creative writing, as well as minors in theatre performance and history. With experience as a production dramaturg for a variety of plays and musicals, he possesses a unique passion for research and eduction. As an experienced performer, Bartholomew has appeared in numerous productions across a range of genres, from classic Broadway musicals to Shakespeare.
