March 4 | ACTING THROUGH SONG with Sierra Naomi

Class Description

Develop your musical theatre performance during this Acting Through Song class. This class will allow you to explore storytelling through the combined skills of singing and acting. Each student will have the opportunity to get up and work on their prepared material through individual coaching. Whether you’re up on your feet working or watching someone else work, you will learn how to bring more truth and specificity to your performance. *Each student should come prepared with a song to work on and a recording of the accompaniment track. This can be a song you’re working on for auditions, a song you love to sing, or something brand new that you’re exploring. Please also have your sheet music handy.*

meet The Instructor

Sierra Naomi is an actor, singer, and director/producer. After many years in Chicago and NYC, she is now proud to call Lancaster home. Locally, you may have seen her on stage at The Fulton Theatre, Prima Theatre, and Servant Stage. She’s been fortunate enough to step into the shoes of some incredible characters, including Fantine (LES MISERABLES), Mrs. Lovett (SWEENY TODD), Narrator (JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT), Lucille Frank (PARADE), and Queen Sigrid Hallbourne in the new upcoming television series King’s Blade. Off stage Sierra also serves as a director/producer. Most recently she was honored to direct SEUSSICAL as part of the Servant Stage’s 2024 Winter Camp season. One of her favorite projects was as the live director and festival co-producer for the Allen and Gray Musical Festival, as well as a concert series she produced and hosted called “New Voices,” featuring new musical theatre writers and their work. She holds a BFA in Musical Theatre from Chicago College of Performing Arts as well as a certificate from the Conservatory at The Stella Adler Studio of Acting in NYC. She loves working with the next generation of Theatre Artists. It’s truly inspiring to watch them work.
