When James is sent by his conniving aunts to chop down their old fruit tree, he discovers a magic potion that grows a tremendous peach, rolls into the ocean and launches a journey of enormous proportions. Featuring a wickedly tuneful score and a witty and charming book, this adventurous musical about courage and self-discovery is destined to be a classic.

Camp runs from 9am-5pm each day. The performances for family and friends will be at 3pm & 7pm on Saturday, July 1 at Lancaster County Christian School (2390 New Holland Pk, Lancaster, PA 17601).

    Additional Information:

    Financial Aid is available for those who need it. All students who register are expected to be able to attend all rehearsals and performances. Masks will not be required at rehearsals or performances. No refunds will be issued within 2 weeks of the start of camp.

Meet the Directors

Matthew Hydzik (Director) is an actor, director, and teaching artist with two decades of professional theater experience including five starring roles on Broadway, five national Broadway tours, dozens of regional theater performances and international concerts. A Pittsburgh native and a proud graduate of Penn State with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Theatre, Matthew’s Broadway credits include: Tony in West Side Story, Kenickie in Grease, Gregg Allman in The Cher Show, Buddy in Side Show, Greg in It Shoulda Been You. Off-Broadway, Matthew starred as John in Tomorrow Morning. National tours include Rent, Fame, Grease, If/Then, and Flashdance. Matthew has performed concerts and special appearances with the LA Philharmonic, Kennedy Center, Jazz at Lincoln Center’s Broadway Song Book Series, The Lyric Opera of Chicago, MUNY, Planet Hollywood Las Vegas, Stages St. Louis, Anneberg Theater Palm Springs, ACT of Connecticut and The Fulton Theatre to name a few of his favorites.

Emily Wick (Assistant Director/Choreographer) is a performer and teacher from Beloit, Wisconsin now based in Lancaster. She has worked on Servant Stage summer camps (and appeared in several mainstage productions including Ragtime, Newsies, Joy to the World, and The Old Time Gospel Radio Hour. She was also a tour actor/director for Missoula Children's Theatre (Cinderella).Other credits include Camelot (Montgomery Theater); A Christmas Story (Broadway Theatre of Pitman); Cabaret (Haddonfield Players); The Home Game (Bird-in-Hand Stage) and Tecumseh! Outdoor Drama. Emily has a BFA in Musical Theatre from Rockford University.

Amberly Barker (Education Program Manager) is excited to be a part of bringing theatre education to the Lancaster area with Servant Stage. Originally from Berks County, she spent four years in sunny West Palm Beach, Florida earning a B.A. in Theatre Arts with an emphasis in musical theatre performance from Palm Beach Atlantic University. Since then she has spent the last nine years at Sight & Sound, a member of the stage management team for most of that time. She lives in Lititz with her husband, Mike, and their daughters, Marley and Delaney. She carves out time in her life for reading, hiking, showtunes, and sweet friendships. Zephaniah 3:17
