October 13 | ACTING with Sierra Naomi

Class Description

British & Irish Accents for the Stage: Get ready to play with your voice! In this class, we'll explore British and Irish accents and discover how changing the way we shape sounds can transform a character. Using the International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA) as our map, we’ll break down how pitch, resonance, and mouth shape create the unique sounds of each dialect and then bring these accents to life by trying them out on short lines of dialogue. By the end, you’ll have new tools to make your characters sound like they’ve truly crossed the pond.

meet Sierra

Sierra Naomi is an actor, singer, director, and teaching artist. After many years in Chicago and NYC, she is now proud to call Lancaster home. Most recently, she toured the country as a Standby on the National Tour of Come From Away. Locally, you may have seen her on stage at The Fulton Theatre, Prima Theatre, and Servant Stage. Some of her favorite roles include: Fantine (Les Miserables), Mrs. Lovett (Sweeney Todd), Narrator (Joseph…Dreamcoat), Witch (Into The Woods), and Queen Sigrid Hallbourne in the new television series King’s Blade. Off stage Sierra loves to spread the love of theatre through directing and teaching. This past summer she was honored to lead the Teen Company as part of Servant Stage's Youth Company. Other Servant Stage directing credits include Seussical (2024) and Moana (2025). She holds a BFA in Musical Theatre from Chicago College of Performing Arts as well as a certificate from the Conservatory at The Stella Adler Studio of Acting in NYC. Thank you Servant Stage for for the gift of working with the next generation of theatre artists!
