Class Description

In this exciting acting class, students will learn how to perform a monologue by using their imagination, making clear choices, and utilizing their listening skills - even when no one else is talking! Through fun games, simple acting tools, and gentle coaching, students will build confidence, focus, and storytelling skills while working on a short monologue in a supportive environment. If you have a monologue that you are currently working on, feel free to bring it with you!

Megan Lynn Schmidt is a 2020 graduate of Ithaca College where she earned her BFA in Musical Theatre. She is a proud Alumni Actor/Director of Missoula Children's Theatre where she toured all over the USA and overseas in Asia. Outside of theatre, Megan teaches Music and Chorus at the Mary Francis Bachmann School. Some of Megan’s most notable onstage credits include Magenta, THE ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW (Mickey's Black Box); Jo March, LITTLE WOMEN, Suzy, THE MARVELOUS WONDERETTES, Featured Vocalist, JINGLE BELL JUKEBOX, Maria Rainer, THE SOUND OF MUSIC (Servant Stage); Rhonda, FANCY NANCY (Vital Theatre); Evelyn Nesbit, RAGTIME (NCC Summer Theatre).
