September 22 | VOICE MASTERCLASS with Abigail Martin
Class Description
In this class we will discuss the concept and challenges of breathing and breath support in singing. We will do breathing exercises and learn about appoggio with applicable techniques. Students will need comfortable clothing, a yoga mat and a sizeable, somewhat heavy book (think a Bible or Harry Potter book) for breathing exercises.
If time allows, we will have our masterclass student performances toward the end of the class. Please be sure to bring your own accompaniment track!

Abigail Martin is excited to join Servant Stage again after music directing Little Women. She is the newly appointed artistic director of Lancaster's only opera company, Penn Square Opera. As a professor of voice at Lancaster Bible College, Abigail has experience directing productions of musical theater and opera alike. A frequent performer, she was most recently featured as the soprano soloist in Mendelssohn's Elijah with the Lancaster Chorale and Orchestra, and as Monica in Menotti's opera The Medium. When Abigail isn't teaching or performing, she enjoys spending time with hernhusband and two children.
